Singapore International Cultural Festival and the 5th Singapore International Martial Arts Competition

On August 13, the “Meet in Lion City, Martial Arts Moves the World” “Belt and Road” Singapore International Cultural Festival and the 5th Singapore International Martial Arts Competition grandly opened at the Singapore Sports School. The venue was bright, spacious, and full of grandeur. This year’s international martial arts competition attracted more than 30 teams from over 10 countries and regions worldwide. Numerous martial arts masters from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and other places participated. From the children’s group to the senior group, from barehanded demonstrations of kicks, strikes, throws, and locks to contests with weapons such as swords, spears, and staffs, the competition was bustling with excitement. Contestants from over 30 groups, including Beijing Guoshu Kung Fu Club, Chaoming Kung Fu China, Wushu Team of Feng County Experimental Primary School of Jiangsu Province, Chengdu Ponyclub Jingwumen, Nanning Mingwu Kung Fu Association, Hong Kong International Martial Arts Cultural Center, and others, all gave their best performances, fully demonstrating the martial arts spirit.

The opening ceremony featured speeches from Mr. Hong Maocheng, Executive Committee Member of the International Wushu Federation and President of the Singapore Wushu Dragon and Lion Dance Federation, Mr. Huang Boai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asia Construction Group and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Belt and Road International Cultural Festival, and other guests. “Making friends through martial arts, making friends all over the world”—martial arts originated in China and belong to the world. At the competition scene, high kicks, punches, side flips, landings… various traditional weapons and traditional martial arts forms appeared one after another. The athletes were full of energy, with each move powerful and forceful, not only highlighting the grandeur of traditional Chinese martial arts but also demonstrating the vitality of martial arts athletes. The audience was excited, cheering and applauding for the contestants.
