On February 17, the Chinese New Year Gathering Luncheon and Wuliangye Spring Tasting Event, organised by the Singapore Xiangqi Federation and hosted by the Singapore China Baijiu Association, was held with great ceremony. Amid the joyful atmosphere of the Lunar New Year, “chess and liquor brought together by destiny”—Wuliangye and xiangqi, two treasures of traditional Chinese culture—once again joined hands to present a distinctive and festive cultural New Year celebration for Chinese culture enthusiasts across Lion City.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Ms Cai Jiamin, representative of Sport Singapore; Mr Sun Jingting, Permanent Honorary President of the Singapore Xiangqi Federation; along with council members, members, and friends—over a hundred guests in total.
At the start of the luncheon, the Singapore Xiangqi Federation specially arranged a prize-based chess problem-solving session, adding to the festive atmosphere. This was followed by award presentations for four tournaments: the Members’ Tournament, Tulong Cup, Qingtian Cup Chess King Tournament, and the Chess Friends Cup.

A sip of fine liquor fills the air with rich aroma; a game of xiangqi brings warmth and joy. The浓郁 fragrance of Wuliangye attracted many guests to stop and savour it. In the festive atmosphere, Wuliangye—carrying the depth of baijiu culture—once again brought everyone closer together.
