On November 29, the 85th Anniversary Celebration of the Singapore Xiangqi Federation was grandly held at Happy Garden (Toa Payoh SAFRA). Wuliangye distributor Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd actively participated in the celebration, bringing the rich and aromatic Wuliangye liquor to the event, adding an elegant touch to this festive and prestigious banquet.
Dr Zhang Hebin, Honorary Advisor of the Singapore Xiangqi Federation, Mayor of the North West District and Member of Parliament for Bukit Panjang SMC; Mr Zeng Shisheng, Honorary Advisor of the Singapore Xiangqi Federation and Former Senior Minister of State for Education; and Mr Yun Weilong, Permanent Honorary President of the Singapore Xiangqi Federation and Chairman of Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd, attended the banquet. They gathered together with more than 300 representatives of xiangqi culture enthusiasts from local Singapore chess teams as well as from Nanjing, Fujian, and other regions in China to celebrate this momentous occasion.

During the banquet, Chairman Yun Weilong personally introduced to the distinguished guests the unique brewing craftsmanship of Wuliangye and its profound cultural heritage. Guests raised their small tasting cups and carefully savoured the fine liquor. Amid the enjoyment brought by the rich aroma, everyone exchanged heartfelt conversations and warm wishes, jointly envisioning the future development of xiangqi and further promoting cultural exchanges between China and Singapore in the field of xiangqi.
The banquet atmosphere was lively and vibrant, with a series of精彩 performances. That evening, Dr Zhang Hebin, the Guest of Honour, along with several well-known local Singapore singers, was specially invited to perform on stage, adding a strong festive spirit to the celebration.
In addition, a charity auction segment was interwoven into the banquet programme. Chairman Yun Weilong actively participated and successfully placed winning bids multiple times, expressing his support for the development of Singapore’s xiangqi scene and for promoting China–Singapore xiangqi cultural exchanges. His actions were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
