The Singapore Tianfu Association (formerly known as the Tianfu Hometown Association) derives its name from Sichuan’s ancient title, “Land of Abundance” (Tianfu Zhi Guo). It is one of the earliest new-immigrant associations established in Singapore following more than 20 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and China. Activities began in early 1996, and in February 2000 the association was officially registered with the Singapore government. To date, it has been in existence for 14 years, with approximately 2,300 council members and members having joined since its establishment.

From 23 to 25 March 2018, the 18th Anniversary Celebration of the Singapore Tianfu Association and the Joint Meeting of Presidents of Overseas Sichuan Associations were held in Singapore.
Mr Charles Oon, Chairman of Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd, attended the celebrations as a sponsor, bringing with him Sichuan’s renowned fine spirits — Wuliangye and Guojiao 1573 — to grace the occasion.

25 March: Welcome Dinner hosted by the Singapore Tianfu Association in honour of His Excellency Ambassador Hong Xiaoyong, the newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Singapore
Baijiu is truly one of the best ways to bring people closer together. At the welcome dinner for the new Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, His Excellency Mr Hong Xiaoyong, Mr Yun used baijiu to build friendships with distinguished guests — relationships as rich and fragrant as fine spirits.

Warm and Passionate Sichuan Compatriots — A Home Away from Home
Sichuan compatriots from all corners of the world gathered together at this moment, filled with enthusiasm, laughter, and joy. Mr Yun felt deeply honoured to celebrate with everyone at such a festive banquet. Although he is not originally from Sichuan, their warmth made him feel the comfort of home. Few words were needed — one toast was enough, with all sentiments kept close at heart.

Seeing Wuliangye and Guojiao 1573 so warmly loved and enjoyed by everyone is the greatest form of support for us. We will continue to do better, allowing more people to taste high-quality baijiu and helping to promote Chinese culture. Joy shared is joy multiplied — true happiness comes when everyone is happy.

To meet so many like-minded friends is truly one of life’s great blessings.

A toast to even stronger friendship between our two nations!
Wishing the Singapore Tianfu Association continued success and growth!
