Jointly organised by the Singapore Chinese Baijiu Association and the Singapore Weiqi Association,
the 2018 Singapore Inaugural Moutai Cup Weiqi Tournament
officially kicked off at 9:00 a.m. on 18 August
at the Grand Pacific Hotel Singapore.

To ensure the success of this tournament,
the organisers paid attention to every detail from top to bottom,
making thoughtful and comprehensive arrangements
to create an excellent competition environment for the players.

Participants were required to arrive early at the venue,
and the association even provided breakfast for everyone
(which was available throughout the competition).

A total of 26 Weiqi enthusiasts took part in this tournament.
Gathering together, they made friends through the game of Go,
embarking on a unique journey
where fine baijiu and Weiqi intertwined.

and take a look at the精彩 performances of the players on that day!

Weiqi matches often last a long time.
Before placing each stone, players must think carefully,
as every move can determine the final outcome of the game.

This tournament was not only a test of skill and strength,
but also a valuable opportunity for players to learn from and challenge one another.
This was precisely the original intention behind hosting the event —
making friends through Weiqi.

Wait — did you notice something?
Two familiar handsome faces kept appearing on camera.
That’s right — they were the two professional referees
invited from the Singapore Weiqi Association.

After five intense rounds of competition,
our Champion, Runner-up, and Third Place winners were decided!
