International Cultural Festival “Moutai Cup” Wushu Competition

On 2 August, the 8th Singapore International Cultural Festival “Moutai Cup” Wushu Competition was held at Singapore Sports School, organised by the Singapore Youth Cultural Centre. Since 2023, Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd has partnered with the Singapore Youth Cultural Centre and has proudly sponsored the event with Moutai for the fourth consecutive year.

On the day of the event, wushu athletes from Singapore and various countries and regions gathered at the venue. Distinguished guests were also present to deliver opening remarks. With the athletes’ parade and opening ceremony, the competition officially commenced.

Competition Venue Ready for Action

The atmosphere throughout the venue was vibrant and energetic. Moutai branding was seamlessly integrated with the wushu theme, featuring Xiao Mao standees, Moutai balloon bottles and themed photo-taking installations.

Athletes from Singapore and overseas completed their preparations, warming up and adjusting their form ahead of the competition, creating an exciting sense of anticipation.

Moutai Photo Spot & Wushu Robot Attraction

The Flying Apsaras-themed backdrop became a popular photo spot throughout the event, with athletes and guests capturing memorable moments from this celebration of wushu and Chinese baijiu culture.

A specially designed interactive wushu robot also made an appearance, blending technology with traditional culture and adding a fun and innovative element to the competition.

Youth Division Opens the Competition

The Youth Division was the first to take the stage as the competition began. The young athletes demonstrated focus, discipline and confidence, showcasing solid fundamentals and excellent competitive spirit.
Through every movement and technique, participants reflected not only their dedication to training but also their appreciation for traditional Chinese martial arts culture.

Traditional Weapons Showcase Skill and Strength

The traditional weapons categories delivered thrilling performances. Athletes skillfully wielded swords, spears, staffs and other traditional weapons with speed, precision and control.
Each movement flowed seamlessly into the next, displaying both power and elegance. The impressive routines highlighted the competitors’ technical mastery and years of disciplined practice.

International Athletes Compete on the Same Stage

The appeal of wushu extends beyond competition; it also serves as a bridge for cultural exchange. Athletes from different countries and regions competed side by side, each expressing their unique understanding of the martial art.

Among them, participants from Indonesia delivered particularly strong performances, demonstrating confidence and vitality while reflecting the growing international influence of Chinese martial arts.

Awards Ceremony and Shared Glory

Following a day of intense competition, the tournament concluded successfully. Medal winners proudly received their awards and commemorated their achievements through photographs and celebrations.

Representatives from participating countries and schools also gathered for group photographs, marking the friendships and connections forged through sport. Regardless of nationality or cultural background, all participants came together through their shared passion for wushu.
